Introduction #edcmooc

Hello,
my name is Tatiana and I am a teacher at a private language school. I have been in profession for over 10 years now (I teach mostly English, sometimes Russian as a foreign language, and theoretically I can also teach German) and I prefer adult students of intermediate level and above.

Why am I taking this course? Because modern times seem to demand from everybody beeing competitive: too few students for too many teachers. To find your way on the market, you need to constantly develop your professional skills. Technology is becoming indispensible in all spheres of our lives, and in education as well. Lifelong sustainable learning is also the characteristic of our reality.

I am doing this MOOC course both for experience and for learning - as most of people, I guess.
I do not expect much. The results depend solely on the person: if you participate in discussions, do readings, reflects and share these reflections, then the benefits can be significant. If you do just the least demanded, your results will be scarce.

My other expectation is to try and master technological tools for socializing, such as FB, Twitter, Blogger - I am not an admire of these devices, so I will have to get acquainted.

Many participants expressed their concern about the creating the final artifact. I am not the exception: I have no idea how I will cope either. Nevertheless, "Дорогу осилит идущий" or in English A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
That is why I say: Bon Voyage!
